  • The University was founded in 1974.
  • During the first years of the university's existence, there were three faculties opened: economic, social and mathematical, and the number of students exceeded 1300 people.

STUDY FEATURES

The concept of studying - Blended Learning. It involves a combination of distance and classroom load, which makes the process of higher education as flexible and convenient for everyone as possible.

At the time of enrollment, a student gets on the Moodle platform a virtual training site (der Virtuelle Studienplatz) which provides an access to all tasks and lectures. It is through this platform that he can communicate with his classmates and teachers. During the studies, students make groups that work together on project, prepare for exams together, and visit virtual classrooms where they can obtain the necessary study materials.

However, distance learning also involves classroom load, so you may sometimes have to visit a university or one of the regional centers closest to your location.

The University has several dozen branches and representative offices located in Germany as well as in other countries (Russia, Latvia, Hungary and Austria), where students take exams and attend some classes.

In addition to the Bachelor's degree and the Master's degree programs, the university offers a candidate's degree (Promotion) and a doctorate (Habilitation). The beginning of the academic year is possible in Winter Semester (February / March) and in Summer Semester (August / September).

The first step is to complete the online application form, fill in all the required information and submit it electronically.

The second step is to print out the completed document, sign it, and add other materials needed due to the conditions of enrollment.

The third step is to send the collected package of documents by mail or bring it personally to one of the regional centers of the university.

COURSES OF PREPARATION FOR DISTANCE EDUCATION

The university takes care of its future students, so it offers preparatory courses to your further study that can give you an idea of ​​what is expected from you.

The following programs are offered to students' choice:

  • Fundamentals of scientific work
  • Application of mathematics in economics
  • Mathematics for the study of computer science and economics
  • Fundamentals of legal professional activity
  • Descriptive statistics
  • English for the social sciences

The cost of the course - 40-60 euros.

Enrollment for the preparatory course is only possible for students who have an acceptance letter to university study.

COST OF EDUCATION

Due to the special form of distance learning, the University has a list of necessary costs (for example, the making and distribution of study sheets, etc.). In order to be able to cover these costs, FernUni commits its students to pay a fee.

Total tuition fees:

Undergraduate programmes - 1600-2400 euros

Graduate programmes - 1000-1200 euros

Payment is made every semester. As the study load can be chosen by each student independently, the cost of each semester may verify.

Pay attention! It is possible to start study in the next semester only by taking all the exams due to the previous semester in person at the university. Students who do not reside in Germany have the opportunity to takes exams at the regional offices of the Goethe-Institute. The cost of the service is 90-120 euros, depending on the direction of study and the format of the exam.

CONDITIONS TO GET AN ACCEPTANCE

In order to apply for admission to the University of Hagen, you must provide certain documents:

  1. Translated into German and certified secondary education certificate.
  2. Ukrainian students are required at least one study year at one of the Ukrainian universities in the field you want to study further for the undergraduate study programs in Germany. Therefore, a record book with a full statement of items and grades translated into German is a prerequisite.
  3. If you have chosen the Master's degree programme, you must show the Bachelor's degree diploma, but only in a related field.
  4. Certificate confirming knowledge of German (level-C1: TestDaF, DSH, Goethe-Institut).
