Vienna University of Technology (German: Technische Universit t Wien, abbr. TU Wien) is one of the biggest universities in Vienna, founded in 1815. Today, Vienna Technical University offers its programs for over 23 000 students, 20% of whom are citizens of other countries. The main buildings of the technical university are located in Karlsplatz, Fraygaus, and in the center on the Guskhausshtrasse Street. In 2005, the Vienna University of Technology took the 32nd place in the list of the best technical universities in the world, and the 8th in Europe.
