Does the university provide an opportunity to study undergraduate programs in English? What does major / minor / mono mean?

The University of Tübingen provides several English-language Bachelor's degree programs. Among the English-language Bachelor's programs there is the subject as the main one (major) - Anglistics; as an additional one (minor) - Anglistics, Computational Linguistics, and as the only one (mono) -Computer Linguistics, Interdisciplinary American Studies, Interdisciplinary Linguistics with an integrated year abroad. The above programs require good knowledge of English at level B2 + .

Does the university accept Test AS? Are there any chances to improve your GPA thanks to the certificate?

Test As is optional for the application to the University of Tübengen. However, having Test AS certificate with a good score can increase your GPA and improve your chances of being admitted to restricted and competitive programs.

Do I need to send documents by post or an online application is enough?

It is enough to upload the documents online; you do not need to send anything in paper by post. However, upon personal registration for university studies, you will need to provide all original copies with translations.

Can students work while they study? How many hours is it allowed to work for students?

If you plan to work while studying you should take into account the following points:

- all programs at the University of Tübingen are full-time;

- you will have to build your schedule very tightly in order to keep up with both study and work;

- it is very difficult to find a job without good knowledge of the German language;

- students are allowed to work an average of 20 hours per week throughout the year, or full day during the holiday period.

Do I need to register with the city authorities when moving into an apartment?

Yes. Once you have moved into a room or apartment in Tübingen, you need to register with the city authorities within two weeks, i.e. Einwohnermeldeamt. This also applies to each subsequent move. Every time you change an apartment or room, you must notify the city authorities of the city or town you have moved to.
