FAQ

Can I apply for a master's program at the University of Hamburg with my bachelor's degree from my home country?

A bachelor's degree gives the right to continue education at the master's level. However, in this case, it must be borne in mind that the bachelor's program program in your homeland and in Germany cannot differ significantly. The decision on the equivalence of your bachelor's degree and compliance with the master's program is made by the selection committee. As a rule, our students can continue studying the same specialty without any problems. In some cases, additional subjects may be assigned to bridge the academic gap.

What are the application deadlines? Are there any differences depending on the program?

Almost all programs at the University of Hamburg are taught in German, with the exception of a few international master's programs. All German-language programs involve submission of an application 2 times a year for the winter (from June 1 to July 15) and for the summer semester (from December 1 to January 15). The exception is international master's programs for which application is possible once a year for the winter semester (from February 15 to March 31).
