FAQ

Can I apply for multiple applications for the programs at the University of Freiburg?

Only one application can be considered. If you have submitted more than one application, the last application within the application period will be taken into account. An application for an alternative program must be made in the form of a second choice program. The exceptions are the programs in economics (public and non-profit management) B.Sc., Biology B.Sc., and psychology under DOSV, you can also apply for additional programs with limited access.

Is there a waiting list and how does it work?

At the time of one online application, you are allowed to choose one priority program and two programs of secondary choice. Admission to restricted secondary choice programs may work when all other main application applicants have been admitted and there are still spaces available. After the application deadline on 15.07, the selection committee holds the so-called first round of decisions, in which only priority applications are considered. For additional free spaces, all secondary choice applications and unapproved priority applications are further considered (assuming you do not have secondary choice applications). Thus, if your application was not approved during the first round of review, then your priority application will be reviewed again from the waiting list. If this is not possible, then your secondary choice application will be considered. If your application is approved, further consideration is no longer possible. If you wish to participate in the waiting list procedure, then do not make any secondary choice applications.

What certificates are accepted to confirm German knowledge to be admitted for Bachelor's degree and Master's degree programs?
