The Latin term "Numerous Clause" is translated as "limited number" and means that the number of accepted applicants should not exceed the number of available places. The restriction is based on the average score competition, and the quota rule also applies to a number of categories of students.

To be able to study in any degree programme at Freie Universität Berlin, it is necessary to confirm knowledge of German at C1 level with one of the following certificates: DSH2; Telc C1 high school; C2 -Certificate of the Goethe-Institut; DSD II; FSP (Assessment Exam of the Studienkolleg); TestDAF (4 * 4). If you do not have the opportunity to provide one of thementioned certificates, you will be invited to DSH exam at Freie Universität Berlin. The Bachelor's degree program "German Philology" and the Master's degree program "German Literature" require the certificate of German Test DaF 5 * 5, or DSH 3.
